    Best way to find sales reps

    What has been the most successful way for you to find sales reps/sales managers that Really end up doing your company good (as in making sales) and that will work for a commission?

    Offer an affiliate program, they work pretty good to get people to sell for your company.

    If you choose a free one make sure they dunt lead to the creators webpage. Many times people make free scripts which actually point back to themselves!! So beware and a paid one would do as well as long as it is good.

    There may be some scripts there. They list both free and paid, so you may be able to find something to your liking.

    Unfortunately I have never had any good experiences with Sales Reps who work for commission, however I do have some very good sales reps that work for a set salary and that actually come into the office each morning. I've actually found that sales reps who are not local do not work as well as those whom are local; since you cannot shout at them (so they're not worried) and also since they do not have the same benefits.

    If you can, it may be worth your while to actually have local sales reps, however of course if you do not have enough money - it may be worth thinking about the possibility in the future.

    You are able to find sales reps on various forum boards if you don't care whether they are. However, of course, for in-house sales reps you'd need to look around your local area and ask about.

    Greetings:

    1. You may want to check with your local chamber of commerce to find out if they have free or low cost venues to find sales people.

    2. You can advertise in your local newspaper.

    Personally, I've found most sales people require at least some degree of management. And remote management of some one who can make your reputation shine or slither like a snake can be difficult.

    3. We've found sales persons generally work best under salary plus commission.

    Finding commission only sales persons can be extremely difficult; the good ones are typically working for well established companies or well funded (read capital $$$$$) startups who can provide enough prospects that given a good close ratio they can support themselves and their family.

    Statrt promoting sales from within. Sales people can be a bit flakey.

    I have always found that the best sales technique is "word-of-mouth". If your customers are happy and pleased with your services, they should be telling everyone around them about your great service. Offer your existing customers a referral fee or credit toward hosting for those that they have referred.

    We offer all of our exsiting customers the equivalent of 1 month of the referrals recurring monthly fees. For example, if a webhosting customer that pays $10/mo refers a new customer that signs up for a $700/mo colocation package, that webhosting customer just made $700! Now thats an incentive!
