This is about domain TRANSFERS.
What are your experiences with domain TRANSFERS -- I mean not as customer wanting to transfer a domain to another registrar but as someone offering domain registrations and transfers with an affiliate program from your sales site.
(c ) others
Our shopping cart allows us to decide which TLDs to list. My own experience with another affiliate program for transfers was that it's A LOT of trouble, as it takes time and because various parties are involved in the process. It sure was not worth the few dollars.
So, what is the best to do --- e.g., we have now these six enabled for transfer:
.com, .net, .cc, .org, .info, .name
I believe only .com, .net, and .cc can be transferred quickly without any "authorization key" and ALL OTHERS need such authorization key -- including .us and .biz ...
What are your thoughts? Are there some that are easier to deal with for transfers than others?
nothing is easier than transfers and the authorization based domains like info biz name us is even easier that doesn't include any email confirmation and almost 100% transferrable not like the email based ones.

Bashar, could you (or someone else) be more specific. Again, my own experience over the past 3 years is with another registrar (ItsYourDomain.com), not with Directi or eNom -- only got accounts there now.
I just yesterday transferred a .name domain (one I registered) in the eNom account we now have and it was a pain from the customer point of view (getting the authorization key). If a customer -- with either eNom or DirectI -- orders a transfer IN, then this requires manual tasks to do as a reseller, no??
Also, do you have a list of domains that do NOT require email confirmation? Can you explain more?
What are your experiences with different registrars (especially eNom and DirectI) about the time a TRANSFER takes.
To test things out I transferred two of my domains:
(a) .us domain TO eNom ... was *immediate* after getting the authorization key
(b) .com domain TO DirectI (out of eNom) ... waiting since 24 hours, not done yet, although the authorization request was replied to immediately
What are your experiences? This is important because customers transferrig domains do send us mails if they have to wait and they won't if this is done quickly -- so I'd rather not make an extra 46 cents with DirectI than having to reply to all the questions of why domains have not yet been transferred. But is there an actual difference between registrars (always given that authorization requests are immediately being replied to by domain owners)?
