I currently use a wireless network in my home and the router does also have a wired 4 port hub. I have a laptop that I move around to both be productive and with the family at the same time. I currently use an external USB2 HDD along with that laptop to store many files. Having the external HDD almost defeats being wireless. I have looked into prefab NAS solutions but the cost of them are outrageous. I have not seen any “reasonably priced” units for home use. Heck, I’d even settle for a case that I could add my own HDD to, but have not seen anything like that.
Is there any prefab or build yourself NAS I can attach to my hub at a reasonable cost for the home user?
