    Computer screens can still improve

I was bored at this site, and started using the scroll funtion of my mouse, and I noticed my screen flickes when I scroll up and down. At first you might think that "why would computer screens need to improve". The answer to that is many things, other than scrolling down a page by clicking with the mouse scroll button. Movies for example, and other related stuff, that can get annoying..

Change your monitor's refresh rate. See if that helps.

    WinXP
[right click desktop] > properties > Settings > Advanced > Monitor > [screen refresh rate]

Edit: Actual refresh rate depends on monitor but mines @ 85 hertz

If you put in a video card, and do not install drivers, it will seem to "freeze up", when you scroll.
    Is that the case?

It could also be something with the video card itself... make sure you are running the newest drivers.

Yep its usually somthing to do with video card drivers, mostly the lack of, it happens very often right after a reformat and you forget to install your video card drivers or somthing...

If you have a Nvidia or ATI card try one of the first 2, if you have another type of card use windows update 'drivers' section.

must be a lcd for sure, CRT's dont "ghost" at all ... not even the really REALLY crap ones. Theres nothing you can do about it mate, I have a Dell 19" lcd flat panel and it ghosts (a bit) when Im playing fast paced games ... Ill have to live with it though. But yes you are right, they do need to improve these screens vastly.

and no, not all monitors are flat screen. All lcds are but CRT's do not necessarily need to be flat. Some are though, to minimise reflection. theres my 2p worth
