PageRank is a very smart engine and if I recall reading, is capable of checking HTML and CSS to see if the background and the font is the same color, plus, it probably ignores javascript so I don't think it would do you much good. Plus, you make PageRank angry and getting back to the top is less then easy .

use a slight varation on txt, change color code if needed, I suggest u can always use a marquee to add extra txt to your site, repeat the marquee txt 3 times so search engines can read the keywords from that

    hope that helps

I see...so in other words so long as the colour of text is slightly different from background it is okay ? As for marquee... Lets say i use a really long sentence like

'colocation, managed hosting, shared hosting, virtual hosting, dedicated servers, dedicated hosting, hosting, host, hosts'

Google will read all ? Or must it be repeated a few times before google reads it or something haha. Sorry for the clueless replies just really new to it

I think if you do that you can probably kiss your adsense account goodbye. Why not add real content instead of trying to cheat the system?

cant repeat the words redunantly next to each other,
I dont advise hidden txt because when people run cursor over area it will show that theres hidden txt. I use a marquee at the bottom of my page works best for me. Once your done signup free at http::/submitnet.net and test your page for search engine submission, will tell you if you violated and engine guidelines including backdoors etc...

If you want help with SEO let me know get me on msn Im pretty good with submission and doing it way below what big companys charge

Great, just what we need - hosting companies that operate like porno sites =P I'll have to watch out for next time i look for a host

"Do you want a nice, hot, steamy dedicated server?" - No, no i don't. I like my servers cooled with AC at the very least!

I've never seen any evidence that Google indexes text used in a marquee.

Hidden text would violate Google's guidelines for quality, regardless of how it's achieved. And that's also true if it's just "almost hidden" by using colors that don't quite match. That approach, or various CSS positioning tricks, or whatever may work as far as evading any automated detection approaches Google might use. But they won't work against a manual review of your site -- which might come as a result, for example, of a competitor filing a Google spam report. Google also checks out any site using AdSense, and they'll kick you for that if they find it.

SUBMITNET OFFERS FREE 3 MONTH TRIAL.
When using submitnet it showed I didnt have enough keywords in my body matching the keywords in my meta. I doubled the marque txt as it repeats it self anyways, to make sure they wernt ignored by search engines, also not that it indexs the marquee it self it does however add the keywords to my body of the page to match the metatags so that the keyword appears multiple times in the body. Am I wrong ?

Yes. But I'm beginning to wonder if I'm wasting my time in continually posting to these search engine optimization threads because people pay no attention anyway.

You're assuming that whatever tool you're using is a search engine or is treating your pages the way a search engine would. It is not, in either case. One more time: it doesn't matter if keywords in your body text match your meta keywords, because no major search engine takes meta keywords into consideration any more. It doesn't matter that you've repeated the marquee text, because no major search engine indexes marquee text.

Changing these things may result in a change in whatever tool you found through submitnet tells you, but so what? You're not trying to rank well in some online tool, you're trying to rank well in one or more search engines. You have to do what works for them, not what works for some outdated, inaccurate, third party tool.

Getting advice, by the way, from a site that tries to hijack your browser home page is probably not a good idea -- someone who would use those tactics probably has no hesitation about giving you advice that search engines will consider to be index spamming.

Where'd the idea that keywords don't help come from? Of course they do; the presence and placement of targeted keywords in various elements of your site, as well as on the pages linking to your site, is almost all that matters. If the terms (keywords) your targeted visitors are searching for aren't on your site, how will search engines link your site to them?

"Keywords" and "meta tags" are two different things.
