Took me a while to get what you are saying (I'm kinda slow today) but that's pretty messed up. Hey, you know they're from Tampa. You should go pay them a visit.
Or I could.

OK so I guess they are not the worst any more.. hostdepartment.com host department took things to a new level. I am sure half of you here are listed as I have seen about 10 that I know are on this forum.
http://www.hostdepartment.com/web_ho...echhosting.com
http://www.hostdepartment.com/web_ho...chhosting.com/
http://www.hostdepartment.com/web_ho...ixreseller.com
http://www.hostdepartment.com/web_ho...xreseller.com/
What the get with pages like this is when some one searches for your name, domain it comes up on the first page on google if its been listed good. They had like 4th place for our name..
I have sent them a warning and also going after them for SLANDER because of this section:
Compared to MatrixReseller, Host Department provides a wide range of web hosting plans, and offers highly scalable web hosting plans to meet your website requirements. Any current plan can be upgraded instantly to a higher available web hosting plans at any given time. MatrixReseller does not provide this kind of instant scalability. Compared to MatrixReseller, Host Department's web hosting pricing are also considered a bargain for the level of service we offer and the reliability which our customers received.

I could be wrong, but saying something that is NOT true is slander is it not?
Right from dictionary.com
Law. Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation.
A false and malicious statement or report about someone.
What they said about us and everyone else listed there would be slander if its no true. It is also hurting your reputation causing you loss of income. I could go on..

It would be libel, as slander is the intent to damage ones reputation through word of mouth.
Libel is where a publication knowingly attacks someone's reputation knowing that what they say is false.

Actually, HostDepartment's address is just a Pak Mail type of place here in Sarasota. I emailed them and asked them about it before, that's what they told me. Just a mailing address - everything gets forwarded to them (or something to that affect).
Hivelocity is located in Clearwater. I almost got a job there, several months ago, but I couldn't get transportation/daycare figured out.

Well I gave them 48 hours, anyone think I should give them till 5PM today to remove that stuff? I mean it is the first day of the work week, so I am trying to be nice..
rockergrrl, it might be a good thing you did not go to Hivelocity, they are also some big time spammers.. There is a few things posted in the psoft forum about them spamming other hosts among other things.

They have no clue what trash they're sprouting out too.

Unlike HTTPme.com PTY LTD, Host Department uses third party payment processing companies. This policy adds more safety point for you to use Host Department compared to HTTPme.com PTY LTD which uses its own bank to process your payment.• WLVPN.com • NetProtect owned White Label VPN provider •

Wow, at first I did not think the hivelocity thing was that big of a deal, as they did not seem to libel, slander, whatever, and since I did not find your name at the Trademark/Servicemark office i was not sure they were doing anything wrong, but host dept has taken it to a new level, and I see more than a few things false among their multiple "host comparisons". I can say that in general I have no problem with host comparisons, but some of that is just dirty. Most of the time I have seen acceptable product comparisons (IMO) has been more of a table laying out the facts of disk space, tranfer, and such as that, and that would be acceptable, but this is really not facts, for a number of the companies "compared"

Wow, I just got to looking at this some more, they are mighty proud of using 2checkout as a anti fraud source and discredit anyone not using 2co or paypal. Well, I always thought having your own merchant account and auth.net would be better, as they are actually charging directly. But, I am just a misguided fool I guess.
