Expired Domain auction question
Some of the expired domain companies auction the names.
Do they buy the name and then have the auction?
Or do they have the auction and then try to grab the name?

Both it depends on which service you use. Pool auctions after the catch if more than one backorders. Namewinner takes bid and if they are successful the high bid wins the name.

enom club drop decides to mix in both methods. You can bid on a name before the drop, and if enom catches the name there is a auction between all those who bid before the drop.

OK, thanks, I'll start a new thread for a related question.
Seems cheesy and suspect to have an auction before they have title.
