Thumbs up Route256 is #1 in my books!

Awhile back I had come to WHT to ask for opinions on dedicated
servers. I had quite a few replies and had to check out about a
dozen companies. I ended up going with a company called
Route256.com . In case anyone is looking for a great hosting
company I strongly suggest Route256.com, aside from great
pricing packages they also have this great Reboot control feature
which allows you to reboot your machine without having to email
support to do it manually! I know this must sound like a sales
pitch but I am just really satisfied with these guys and felt that
they deserve a pat on the back for their efforts!

I've seen mention of reboot by panel interface many times in these forums.

What's the deal with using them? SSH and "reboot" or "xxx start/stop" is free.

Reboot ports (APC) are used if your server locks up or is generally not responding. When this happens you have to rely on the DC to manually cycle the machine. With the reboot feature that the company the thread starter mentioned you would just have to login to your client center through his website and click "reboot"

If you have ever needed to use it once it is worth it's weight in gold

BTW I do business with Mr. sanders as well and can vouch for the quality of service the thread starter talks about

Thanks for the kind words. I've found when clients are happy, they generally don't say anything. It's nice to know we're appreciated

too bad they don't offer Cpanel yet.
We have no plans to offer cPanel. We offer Direct Admin, sometimes added for free. If you want cPanel you can easily rent your own license (at the same cost we would) from a reseller and add it to a machine here. We will install cPanel, but will not buy the license for you.

As for the reboots, it's a system we had wrote to intergrate with our controls. X-Gaming has been in many many datacenters across the country, his explaination is right on the mark and he has first hand experience with how convient it is.

Were constantly working on adding features and controls to our support center. You guys will be getting a new site for support probably this week, with many more features including online controls for email firewalls for your servers. Now you can instantly create and modify our email firewall to filter your mail for any server anywhere. I'm pretty excited about getting that out.

Thanks again guys, I appreciate it very much.

I forgot to mention that there were no setup fees that almost
all of the other companies had in place!

Haha... honestly for the past 2 years I have been serving my
sites through a residential ADSL connection and I could barely
surf the net myself. I kept putting it off because I was lazy and
a little leary from all the threads I was reading about how people
were having problems with their hosting company!

Here is my original thread when I was asking for other peoples
    recommendations for hosting companies:

Geez, he's happy with his service and wants to share it.

Someone comes in the forums and brags about being happy and getting good service, and readers complain.

Someone comes in the forums and complains they get poor service and readers complain.

If noone was expressing their opinions, this wouldn't be much of a forum would it.
