I thought Linux gurus preferred light, simple designs. Personally i dont really like dark designs either but it looks alright

Thanks for the comment. I do see this as a fairly simple design (compared to many other ones). I may have a look into changing it soon. I have a few comments that it is hard to read on some computers.
Thanks again for you comment.crucialparadigm - Affordable, Reliable, Professional :

Love the logo, and if your going to stay with dark greys the font color is kind of cool really.
I'm trying to get away from darks lately though.
Peace

Actually when I come to think of it, dark colours are probably a good way to go. Most of the time I usually design sites based on a white background. But if you think about it Linux users are using the command line a lot, so dark colours would remind them of the command line.

Sorry
Hi. Sorry, I really could not comment on anything but your logo at the top whcih looks very nice. Grey on black is almost impossible to read on my crt with the room lights on. The darker orange is not that much better.
At least contrast the text and background enough for us older people to see it.

lol, I 've been looking for that domain name
lol, I really like the logo... but I personnaly could not stay on a forum with that dark and green colour scheme. It reminds me of my firsts website , pimples time and red hat 4.2
Good luck any way I always like to meet other fellow Linux user

Generally looks like a guys techy site but as many have said above if you want people to actually use the site then it might be wise to provide a bit more contrast between the text and the background.
