This is the second incident of the same type that I have read about here. My faith in Managed.com has been fading lately, when it was just on the rise not too long ago. They had a recent string of good reviews, now they seem to be more like what you described.
Disappointing, to say the least.
Very sorry about your problem, and I hope it gets resolved quick.
maybe your server was reformated, managed has no way to track their customers, anyone who know the server main ip send a ticket to reformat the HDD, managed will do it! and charge you 50USD. i have heard a few cases ppl's harddisk kanna formatted for no reason.
what you see "pdesk.cgi is unavailable at this time. Please email: ...." is normal, it always showing that. i doubt move your domain will help.
managed's server is okay, but their management is very bad, i suggest you back up your server on remote ftp server, that's how i do, just be prepared if one day ppl send a false HDD reformat ticket and stupid managed.com don't know who is their customer.

Look, I'm having a rough one. They've totally fubar'd me and now I can't get a hold of them.
Joke with me next week when I'm not hurtn' so bad.
Meanwhile, time to find a new dedicated hosting service for the charities I host ... though I'm seriously just thinking about getting a dedicted IP address from my DSL provider and running my own box after all the crap I've been through with hosting companies over the past couple of years.
Reading these recent posts about managed.com's problems is making me wonder if I should have chosen them as the foundation for a new project. Hopefully I can stay lucky until I can afford a backup server somewhere else.
On a positive note, I have had to contact managed.com several times for small things, like getting the link to my MRTG graph and rebooting the server and they have always replied in under 5 minutes (actually the reboot was done about a minute after I fired off the e-mail, to my amazement).
