    * Is sending a press release worth it?

    Hi all,

wanted to ask you is sending a press release worth it?

There are sites such as www.marketwire.com www.eworldwire.com
which offer sending your press release to renown media companies online and offline, is it really worth it? If some one from canada sends a press release all over usa and uk, would that be ok? and if someone from uk sent all over usa and canada.. has anyone used press releases before?

Pls letme know your valuable comments.

    Thanks, Yaser.

    Greetings:

We've sent out a number of press releases over the years.

Some examples of one's that got published:

    http://thewhir.com/king/third-party.cfm
    http://thewhir.com/marketwatch/dyn082803.cfm

Over the years, we've had mixed results.

We found that if you focus on who you send the releases, and keep the message focused to their audience, you will have a higher chance of being published.

Press releases published is often better than free advertising.

    Thank you.

but not all of them provide free PRs, some websites who pretend to provide are just a SCAM and all they want is your detailed information and your credit card number so beware of anything FREE !

    Thanks, Yaser.

    Greetings:

From our experience, the best way to go about it is to either do it in-house or contract with a local marketing company to write the press release.

Then send it to sources that would be interested in the content of the press release as it applies to their subscription base.

    Thank you.

TheMacOS.com you should definetely consider it, it helps get the word out.
Newspapers and magazines are always looking for information, you should come up with some gudies and post them at small directories for people to read and have 'Sponsored by So&So host'. People always appreciate helpfull content.

There are lots of them. If you go to about.com business startup kits.there is a forum there (this is with ref: to canada one) where the author of the tutorials invites you to post your Press Release free of cost. its a good way of getting some recognition.

For PR comapnies you can just runa google search and you can find loads, but id recommend dmoz.com for this as it lists just company web results.
