For the last 2 days, my qmail queue and unprocessed msg increased a lot during peak hour, I have checked a lot are viruses. But it seems the unprocessed msg is actually slowly down the server. Anything I can do about it? The amount of viruses is getting too crazy.
Unprocessed messages just represent a backlog of mail that qmail hasn't gotten a chance to look at yet. You don't want to delete these messages; you want qmail to process them so it can queue them for delivery. You might need a faster disk for the mail queue, or a better method of blocking spam so that qmail won't need to deal with so much mail.
For the last 2days it is ok now. Prob is last time when there is a virus attack it is a new thing a lot of huuha. now no one cares. So even with viruses, tell clients they also dun quite believe u. I am running Xeon Dual 2.4 1 Gb Ram Raid 1 SATA admit my mistake in the I/O side. Seems to be running ok normally. But once in a while httpd goes out of hand and the SMTP and Squirrelmail crash. My setup VPOPmail, Clamav, Qmailscanner, SquirrelMail, any component need to improve?
