You need a mailing list manager.. I suppose...
Bulk mailers sound so synonymous to spammers..

I read this post and wondered what exactly the difference between a *mailing list* is and an *emailing program*.

I know they both do bulk emailing, or email to more than one person, but what exactly is the difference.

    I would highly recommend

    1) Send Studio http://www.sendstudio.com/
    2) Mail Works Pro http://www.mailworkspro.com/
    3) Oem Pro http://www.oemp.com/

I personally use Send Studio and am very pleased with it.

I use MyMail, which is an easy to use and stable program. It includes a feature where people can subscribe, unsubscribe and view newsletter archives should you choose to save the messages sent out.

Check out the forums there as well for user contributed additions to the script.

I am reviewing similar software now for a non-profit news & commentary web site that has 2 daily newsletters, with about 3500 subscribers each.

I posted a thread in the Other Offers and Requests forum, but since it was deleted without explanation, I'm assuming that wasn't the right place.

Anyhow I've requested bids for email hosting (1 received so far) because we can only afford shared hosting and our hosts continually balk at what they call 'bulk' emailing. They tell me of their email frequency per hour cap and then suggest I get a dedicated host which my organization cannot afford. I do not understand how these same hosts can offer unlimited mailman lists, but whatever. Oempro (mentioned above) is different from most mailing scripts in that it allows for multiple sending methods, including spreading the load across several smtp mail servers.

I'm not the one who removed it, but after reviewing the post, it would be because it was a request for hosting. Hosting requests are not allowed on the main forums. You would need to use the Host Quote feature of the board for something like that.

    I recommend using MailBoy 2004 from http://mailboysoft.com .

It is very friendly and easy to use. No setup required, just load the email list and the message and click the 'send' button
