    Checkout my new blog

    Here's my new blog:

    http://www.blog.jydesign.biz

    I realise part of what makes a blog so good is the contents and obviously a new blog lacks that but I normally post several times a day so the amount of contents should pick up soon.

    Feel free to add comments to any of the posts. Also check back often to additional contents and features. It's a non-stop work in progress.

    It's up now and everything, if you look at the date of the posts, you will see that I post everyday... The problem though is to get people to go to it... any advice on getting some publicity out for blogs?

    Looks very nice.

    However, one thing is you have "Valid XHTML" on the side menu, but it doesn't validate.

    Looks great though.

    Yeah... I'm going to take that off, good point.

    The thing is the target="_blank" is not vaild under xhtml. Apart from that I think the rest of the site checks out.

    Feel free to add comments to any of the posts. I'm trying to get people to add comments so it's more of a discussion.

    *EDIT: Valid XHTML link removed.

    Noo, don't take it off; fix it

    And I do believe target="_blank" is valid, it's the single quotes instead of the double quotes.

    Code:
    <a href='http://blog.jydesign.biz/photos/index.php' title='My Photo album...' target='_blank'>Photolog</a>
    Also
    Code:
    <a href="http://www.fun-emails.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=67" target="\_blank"\>How to impress a woman</a>
    is not correct.

    Your so close, don't give up

    Might as well display valid css too.

    You do however have the following warning, looks like you forgot to add sans-serif on the following id.
    Code:
    Line : 0 font-family: You are encouraged to offer a generic family as a last alternative
    Code:
    #commentlist code  {

        * font-family : Courier New, Courier, mono;
        * border : 1px dashed #f3a0a0;
        * background : #f9e4e4;
        * padding : 0 5px;
        * text-align : left;

    }
    Also, the
    Code:
    Line : 0 Property voice-family doesn't exist for media
    error can be fixed by removing the
    Code:
    media="screen"
    when you include the css file via
    Code:
    	<style type="text/css" media="screen">
    		@import url( http://blog.jydesign.biz/wp-layout.css );
    	</style>

    Well the key to blogs is good unique content. If your blog is good, people will read it. It's as simple as that. Think of new and interesting ideas to incorporate with the blog.

    Like any other site, find a niche and you will be allright.
