for eg. if your paypal account is a US account and you wish to log into your paypal account during one of your overseas trips in say UK or Australia, will Paypal freeze your account?

i've heard many horror stories of ppl having their account frozen simply because they log into their account in another country?

has anyone done the above? any prob?

I live in Ontario, Canada. I have successfully logged into my paypal account from Maine, USA.

As far as I know, those are just rumors.

I don't think they do. I doubt that they have the resources to compare millions of IP addresses

they block account - but when you enter some data like ss, or bank account number they unblock it - its standard security - if you log from another country they notify you that someone has logged from another country ip and ask if you authorize this login.

I travel a lot and already accessed my account from Portugal, Luxembourg and Belgium.

Never had my account locked.

Well US, Canada, Australia and Europe are considered low risk security wise.

Anyone try from a high risk place such as Vietnam or China?

I visisted Bosnia and they did suspend my account until I had a long talk. Got a Free T-Shirt out of it too .

Like a year ago there was a paypal employee on WHT that gave away free shirts to anyone that PM'ed him. I got mine but have yet to wear it in that year or so. heh.

They may depending on the country you go to. If you are traveling through Western Europe or North America, you are probably not going through any high risk countries. If you end up in a 3rd world country somewhere, they might.

I used to go to Brazil a lot, and Bank of America would suspend my credit cards when they would see them suddenly being used in South America.
