Question Windows open source control panel

Does anyone know a good one?

The company who makes the Cp we're using is dead , and i know Helm, Hsphere or Plesk are good alternatives but somehow i prefer this product and want to develop it for my own use.

I can't think of one that is open source, but this new Windows CP looks promising:

If you don't mind me asking, which product are using that is dead?

thanks for your reply but i'm not looking to buy. If i want to buy, i only buy Helm or Hsphere.

i just need a source code of a control panel to find out how they write it. Anyway, i'll figure it out later. no problem.

    Thanks again.

I don't know if you have came across this one yet, but http://www.thezpanel.com

Since it's open source, it's not going to be as close as commercial applications as the incentive to develop a robust CP isn't there. It probably will give you some hints though on how they built their CP though. It really depends on the software you use... when I wrote a FreeBSD CP, most of major applications was managed by a database. IE, POP3 and FTP users were authenticated by a MySQL database instead of from a configuration file.

At the time, we were looking at using XML which would have made it so much easier to manage Apache's httpd.conf file rather than to write our own admin tool that could break the file.

Unfortunately for Windows, there's not a lot of SQL backended software. It's all COM or command line based operations for the most part. So you have to experiement with command line execution functions in the language of your choice as well as using COM objects as that's what I'm seeing more Windows apps are using to control web services.

No, not yet. But we are finishing up an API which would make it easy to integrate with any such software.

Thanks for all responses. Finally folks who make the CP we're using get back to business. What a relief!!!

There's no doubt this product is better than most of the major windows CPs on the market.

I don't think the name of the cp is banned.

From going to your website it seems you are using 'HostingAccelerator' as your CP.

edit: Doesn't seem to be banned nor is it as short as you mentioned.

    Oh well, good day.

    Amzhost,

That seems to be version 2 of hacl - did you just take the screenshots from the hacl forum or are you running v2? If so.. HOW??!!!

I have been impressed with v1.9 but will wait until I have tested v2.0 until we decide to buy.

    Hi guys,

I've heard a lot of good stuff about Hosting Accelerator (and from evaluating it myself it looks like just the job for my company) but a lot of bad stuff about the support...

Is it just as bad for the people that take out the $300 support option of unlimted web/text/phone based support? This is the only thing concerning me at present as I would buy it tomorrow (or at least, as soon as v2.0 comes out!)

Has anyone here tried out thezpanel? I would be interested in your feedback.
