    high traffic to static page

    hello

one of domains hosting with me is getting a lot of traffic (3mbps) because got listed on thehun.net (adult site)

although it's a static page (just HTML with some JPG), my server load jumped from 0.30 to 2 or 3, and that's a p4 2.8 GHz hyperthread with 1 GB ram

    it's not swapping

    my old config was:
    MaxClients 250
    MinSpareServers 5
    MaxSpareServers 10

    I changed to:
    MaxClients 500
    MinSpareServers 5
    MaxSpareServers 32

but the server got even high

    suggestions?

    thanks in advance

    i put it back to
    MaxClients 200
    MaxSpareServers 10

    and it's better now (load = 0.9~1.1)

i thought that more spare server would be better...

If you're only serving html and images I would look into using alternative webservers other than apache.
