    ive had nothing but bad luck in the several times i have dealt with them and have never ever even considered them as a company I'd work with again.

    I also consider it bad if you have to ask how a company is doing now showing that one month their up next their not :/

    Hehe. Nocster gets accused of just about everything, but I haven't seen any substantiated claim that they're "unethical."

    I may or may not agree with some or all of the other accusations.
    If the bigger hosts are fancy French restaurants, consider my service the friendly small-town diner.

    2 years with FDC. For the price I like them. Like all discount providers you will see many opinions.

    I dont know, people keep saying "fdc sucks" and such while the morons at managed.com unplug your server because "Servers that use more 10Mbps for 20 minutes or longer will be disconnected from the network" Now thats some pure lame BS. So which one would you prefer?

    I monitor them via SiteUptime's premium 2 minute monitoring service. 4 outages so far this month and 99.6% uptime. I still would not touch them, although they have obviously improved a great deal since last year

    Thats because FDC extremely oversales there bandwidth. Since all of there servers are unmetered.

    I haven't really heard much about there support. Since most people post about there horrible uptime, and bad pings.

    Hey, I've never had any experiences with Managed.com, but I still tell people to stay away from them based upon what I've read about in these forums, and a few experiences some of my friends have had with them. But usually it has to do with having a poor network.

    FDC, my brother had a hell of a ride with. I will never ever go near them, and I will warn people as much as possible to stay away from them. My brother lost HUNDREDS of dollars to that company for absolutely no reason. It was such a joke. Terrible terrible company.

    And I'm not even talking about their network, I've heard that's piss poor as well, I'm talking about their ethics, and how they simply robbed my brother out of his money.

    Actually, they are not overselling as bad as managed.com is.

    We currently are having network issues with FDC. Slow speeds. They are pretty good overall.

    The slow speeds crap has gone on for years and for some reason all the clients just grin and bare it, god knows why.

    These threads always look the same, 99% say how awful FDC is and how never to use them, and then you have Rob_AcuNett and Music pipe up to say they aren't that bad. I do believe you guys need to try some other providers, you'll be in for a good surprise.

    As to the ethics and general working practice of the company....it's shocking. How the hell they remain in business is beyond me.

    Relax, the speeds are still decent. I rate them pretty good overall because network issues have been a rare occurance lately and they also offer fre remote hands, os installs, etc.

    Im currently trying to rsync a couple hundred megs of data and at 250k, the server is COMPLETELY saturated. I can barely type a few commands in SSH without getting frustrated.

    The fact that they are all sold out should tell you something. Obviously, there are ALWAYS going to be people bitching and complaining about hosts specially FDC given that they've had a bad reputation in the past.

    For the price they're great. I've been getting about 8mbit/sec for $150 a month, that's under $20 per mbit/sec, and not even counting the server. Yes, it's a little slow and has it's share of network problems, but what do you expect for that amazing price. My experience with their support has been great, reboots are done quickly, I always get a prompt response, sometimes it takes some prodding for a complete answer, but the responses are quick enough and I always end up with all the information I need. They do OS reinstalls and some other minor things absolutely free, not sure of many places in this price range that will do that.

    Negative posts in this thread doesn't really represent FDC user's opinion. There have always been people bitching about FDC from day 1 and the same people post again and again. If they's sold out they are probably selling those servers to someone?

    i've been using their cogent irc network and my reviews are:

    support : 4/5 (very fast replies at 1st replies but too slow after until i have to post other ticket but what i can said their technical has been fully trained and answer in very polite way)

    speed : 3.5/5 (slow download, normally i download something by average of less than 100k)

    uptime : 4.5/5 (yup, its getting improved and i dont see any downtime for last month but there is little downtime yesterday and 3 days ago)

    hardware : 4.5/5 (i dont like SiS network card)

    so far everything is fine for me except when my server has some connectivity problem but it was last time, they will just change my port from 100mbps to 10mbps without letting me know until for a week when i was having fun with typing dmesg.

    So do WHT a favor and try to just give your opinion on the TOPIC and not bash others on the forums that do not share your opinion.

    Maybe you should grow up. How the hell can you say you have enjoyed your last 2 years with FDC. There have been many threads in which you yourself have admitted they were terrible last year, now your saying you have been totally happy with them?

    They have had at least 9 outages this month, you clients are happy with that? Is that what they should be expecting?

    As I said, you are good friends with the owner of FDC, so you will be very biased. Hell, your probably not even paying for your servers with them.

    P.S. - I have been with FDC as well and I will continue to stay with them simply because they continue to improve.
