    Sunless Tanning

I'm so excited because tomorrow morning, I am going in to get my sunless spray tan! I'll tell you how well it works. (I hope I dont turn orange! Hehe)

Have any of you guys have past experiences with sunless tanning?

Haha.. Even if you do use tanning BEDS instead, thoes are said to be worse than sitting in the sun.

FDA is not sure about sunless tanning (DHA active chemical) on the internal parts of your body (ie eyelids, lips, etc.) but has issued a warning. It is safe for external use.

I once tried some sunless tanning lotion... oh boy, what a mess.

I'll stick to the sun from now on.

Wow, I would have loved orange patches.

My face looked like it had chocolate poured on it... I couldn't leave the house for almost a week before it finally came off.

    Sex: Male
Complexion: White (the kind that looks really bad and sick pale)
Ability to get sun: Very little
Picture: Look in WHTfaces if it's important

Product: Banana Boat VitaSkin Instant Sunless tanning lotion (light/medium)
    Price: ~$8
    Applications: 2-3 (to date)
    Compliments: several
    Rude remarks: none

The product takes a little skill to apply, I guess. My first time doing it I washed my hands but accidently didn't get my wrists washed very well, they turned a dark color--I guess it could be called 'orange'. So far each time I've applied it I've gotten better at it. I'd never say that it looked 100% as good as a real tan, but most people don't know the difference or care. The main point is whether you look bad without any color and if adding color makes you look a whole lot better, and if it's important for you to look good. If all of those are main factors, then you should certainly look into a sunless tanning solution.

I've never tried a professional spray. Applying the lotion really only takes about 5-10 minutes for the whole body. If you were just doing your face/neck it would be as short of a time as prepping to shave your face.

What products did they use that turned them orange? I saw some fairly cheap looking ones. I'd say the quality of the tan are determined by product and person applying the product.

The sprays are supposed to be great for those that don't have time or those like me that just don't tan well. I develop a permanent red tint during the summer due to heritage. The one thing to note about the sunless stuff is you better scrub yourself down the night before really well. Use a loofa or something like that to try and get all the excess dead skin off your body (should be using one anyways for this purprose). The patches of skin on your body that are dieing off are what cause the splotchiness in the sunless products.

I think about doing it each year then remember I don't actually go outside so it doesn't matter.

Yuck, I'd rather sit out in the sun for 30 minutes and get some color.

I used spray tans and ones in a bottle a couple times and it makes you stink. The tan also smears off onto your clothes and makes you feel dirty.

I just did it today! It looks amazing!! It does not stick to my clothes at all, and is really a quick process. just remember to wear the eyewear, the nosewear, and other stuff.

illuzhen777, if you need a fake tan because you don't see the real sun, who is going to see your fake tan anyway?

I bought a gallon of the airbrush kind you spray on for my wife. It works really well and hopefully is safer than the sun. Spray it on every 2-3 days and she stays dark tan not orange or red looking at all. Looks very natural she gets alot of compliments.

Ditto, except I believe the booth is faster, but (more costly?)

I guess paying $25 to get a tan everytime can get costly, especially cause its recommended to get them consecutively day after day, then a week gap. You can buy a mass amount of tans for as low as $10 per session.

LOL, the only color I would get from sitting in the sun for 30 minutes is red. Yes, I'm very fair and I burn that easy.
