LinkSys Firewall Help
I need to open a specifc port on my firewall at home. It is a LinkSys BEFSR41 DSL/Cable Router Firewall.

go to http://192.168.1.1
thats for your router..
others are 192.168.0.1
type user/pass
i assume you want port forwarding
got to advanced
port forwarding
its somewhere along those lines..

Have you tried accessing your system panel? It's typically http://192.168.1.1
From there you should be able to access what you need. I don't remember where exactly to change this, but I remember it being in there.

I can get into manage my router, but I don't think I am configuring it properly. It won't hold the settings after I hit apply when I do Port Forwarding.

Try resetting your router.

make sure you log-out.. instead of just closing it.
