Future Shop sells them here in Canada, but I don't know how good they are though. They seem decent enough when I played around with it in the store. Just get a spec sheet on them and check it out for yourself. If it has decent components than go for it.

Check out the warranty and replacement policy. That could make the decision easier.

If the components are good then your chances of getting a decent pc are pretty good.

If I'm not mistaken E-machines have one of those combo mother boards where everything is built onto the motherboard.

Thats nice for a server when it doesn't use graphics a lot or doesn't need sound etc. But I've got a combo board in one of my home pc's.......

The graphics are awful, half the time I get nice little lines on my screen when a window closes etc.

The sound is *ok* but never again will I buy a all-in-one mother board.....

O.K. Since we are talking about low priced computers, does anyone have a suggestion for a low priced lap top. I don't need anything fancy. As long as I can run a browser and email program, that's all I need it for.

Hmmm, I wouldn't go for a low cost laptop. The difference between a good Toshiba and a low end one will only be a couple hundred bucks. It's just not worth it. I have a Toshiba laptop that has lasted almost 5 years without a single problem. My friend bought a Hitachi around the same time because it was $500 cheaper and it lasted 6 months before it crapped out. The seond one he got went after 4 months.

Cheap desktop pc's are ok because you can replace parts pretty inexpensively. Laptop parts are outrageous.

I'd recommend Dell factory outlet, http://www.dell.com/uk, then click factory outlet. Pretty good prices.

    DO NOT

    DO NOT BUY EMACHINES

We have serviced many of the E-Machines, they are very cheaply made, and there is 0 I mean 0 technical support, everytime one of our customers has tried to call for technical support they were on hold for literally hours, not to mention if you send the system in for repair you wont get it back for at least a month. In fact the company is so bad that it has several law suits out by several states.
