    fake microsoft website?

    http://msn-int.com

I think this is a fake microsoft website. I tried what the name server is, they sell roller blades.

The way i got to this website was googling "msn messenger 6.2". I think maybe they have a trojan in the download of msn they offer on their website @ http://messenger.msn-int.com/Feature/whatsnew.aspx

    very fishy!!!

Actually that URL is a legit Microsoft domain.

    Dns resolved www.msn-int.com to 65.54.202.62

    65.54.202.62 belongs to Microsoft.

No, it belongs to Microsoft, as Pat said, the IPs are Microsoft's. WHOIS checks are not always the most accurate way of determining domain ownership.

MS probly owns just about every domain with MSN and microsoft in it. I mean hell it would cost what 1 million bucks Gates using that as TP .

If you actually looked at what you were clicking on on that page then you would see that it is not an actual web address -- it must be designed for their MSN explorer.

I dunno about you all, but I surely wouldn't want to mess around clicking the links on that site in IE.

/me is glad he doesn't run a Windows OS for reason's just like this.

if you just look at the links you will see something very fishy is going on.

Given the fact that the download link points to http://download.microsoft.com/, and the IP belongs to Microsoft, I'll say that this is legit.

    OrgName: Microsoft Corp
    OrgID: MSFT
    Address: One Microsoft Way
    City: Redmond
    StateProv: WA
    PostalCode: 98052
    Country: US

    NetRange: 65.52.0.0 - 65.55.255.255
    CIDR: 65.52.0.0/14
    NetName: MICROSOFT-1BLK

Those links that you posted probably open content in MSN Explorer for MSN customers (I think non-MSN customers can get it too).

    1. register a domain related to microsoft.
    2. put fake details in the domain registration
    3. put links on the page to the real msn website
    4. steal all the images from the original website (cloning)

    The URL belongs to Microsoft.

The IP of the hostname is part of Microsofts netblock.

What more would you like to hear?

still looks fishy but the IPs belong to MS, or perhaps someone managed to get a server in there hook it up to their network and rip msn's site off...well i dont think its going to happen lets just say that.

This is actually a legit site, however, should not be open to the outside world. It is an intranet site available to those on the Redmond and Palo Alto MSFT network.

It is for sure a legit site.
The reason for the strange formatted links is for microsofts msn explorer web browser. [http://www.snapfiles.com/get/msnexplorer.html Download it and try it if you don't believe me. I remember when msn explorer first came out and I tried it, hated it but I do remember that there was weird formatted links and I do remember the msn-int.com website. There is also a passport-int.com website as well. And same with a hotmail-int.com.

And the reason why you got this warning is because you clicked on the link in this post

Let's say I have it on good source.

It was housed in the WebTV Mountain View (Now owned by Microsoft) DC on ops.artemis.com and was used by the CS_Tools team that were developing the intranet. I hadn't seen the site in some time... I don't remember it ever being on a public IP, but I could be wrong.
