I'm trying to move my client's registrar from register.com to godaddy. To do that we are trying to first change the admin contact email. We have done EVERYTHING right (using pw, un, etc) , but register.com just can't seem to process the request. The chang shows under register.com's system, but nowhere else on the net.
The client actually purchased the name from Verizon, who is a reseller of register.com. The Verizon folks have tried to complete the change for us and they can't get it done. Now the Verizon guy is telling my guy that I should just change the domain name servers and that I'm just causing trouble. . . .Ooh this pisses me off. They are holding this guy's domain name hostage - charging him $35 a year for it, and not giving him a lick of service. Then on top of that they are trying to tell him that it is my fault because I won't just leave things as they are!!!!
I have had them lose a couple of my domain names etc... no biggie to me now was mad at the time. I moved a domain name away about two months ago they gave me troubles with it, they sent all my domain names to a Partner of theirs, I wasn't to please cause I didn't know where to login. They changed everythign around and put a Auto Renew on my domain name, so they charged my credit card, I told them to reverse it asap or we will take further actoins. Well they did reverse the charges, but they decided to take my name, so I told them to give it back or other actions will be taken lol so I transfered it out with Two years on it Thanks to Register
So Yes contact Their support call the 1800 number. I know two techs there personally if you need me to ask them for help pm me and i will pass it onto them.

I guess this only proves their incompetence more than decency.

The problem is that even though register.com has the ultimate control here, it is registered through a middleman (Verizon). So register.com will NOT provide any support. However, Verizon says that they have done everything that they can and that the problem is with register.com's system. Register.com will not deny this, but they won't get off their butts and remedy the situation.
I tried that. The first time I called they patched me through to a recording that said since I purchased from a reseller .....bla bla bla
The second time I called I managed to speak to a person who basically said that he coudn't/wouldn't help me since my client purchased through a reseller. I told him about the problem the client is having and he basically said tough ****!
