Question Windows 2003 Web Edition, how to get it?

We are going to be bringing up some more hardware in our Dallas area location and would like to run Windows 2003 Web Edition.

Thing is, I can't figure out how to just buy the OS without jumping through a bunch of MS hoops.

Anyone know how a hosting/dedicated server provider can just buy a copy of Web Edition?

    Thanks!

If you are going to offer hosting using Windows Server you must do so under the MS SPLA license.

If not, you can purchase it from CDW or the likes.

    Hope that helps!

Take a look at some of the software sellers on the net. Web Edition is a good alternative. You can pick up a OEM version for around $350 most places.

I dun think u can get Web Edition from any store. U need to purchase from those licensed Microsoft hardware manufacturers. From what I understand Web Edition comes with the PC or server. It has no retail pack , only OEM. And buying OEM isnt legal without the accompanying hardware. Correct me if I am wrong.

I believe burst.net/nocster offers the option of buying out Win2k3 Web Edition if you get a server from them. You can either pay $40 per month for a year or a one time $400 and the licence is yours.

I believe the poster already has servers.

There are plenty of companies selling software, It is not illegal or immoral to purchase software from anyone outside of Microsoft
