I'm asking this here, as the MMcache project itself is dead, so they're not responding to any support enquiries anymore. I'm hoping someone knows this.
I noticed the mmcache.shm_size directive is by default set to 16. I figured this is probably the directive that sets the memory that will be used by MMcache in megabytes. Does anyone know whethter that's true, and whether it's good (or bad) to increase this number?
Yeah, it's a memory size in Mb available to the mmcache module. Increase it if you have reached the upper limit. You can check the amount of used and available memory with phpinfo() function that will print all data on the mmcache module as well as other php info.
Yeah that's what I thought. I'm quite positive that this is the amount used in the temp dir, however could you verify that please? If so, I guess it can't hurt too much to set this to like 1gig or something likely, or isn't that true?
The size of the tmp dir (for example, /tmp/mmcache) is larger than what you set that directive to. I am not quite sure what is the ratio, but setting it to 1 Gig is too much. Try 32-128 Mb first and see with the help of phpinfo() function if it reaches the limit. If it does, you can always raise it more.
