i am at work behind a firewall.
is there anyway I can connect to my home PC using VNC or PcAnywhere.

both are currently running on my home computer.
I wish to access my computer in some way.

Firewall? What's a "firewall"? Be more specfic. (software or hardware at least?) For VNC, open port 5800 and 5900, and you shouldn't have a problem. VNC is an excellent package, although I haven't tried PcAnywhere. Also, if you have a dynamic IP (even if you have cable/DSL), I reccommend setting a DNS server on your home PC. www.no-ip.com can really help you put there, and I have an excellent program that will automatically update no-ip.com with your current IP address. Contact me for details. As far as your question goes, just make sure that ports 5800 and 5900 are appropretaly opened or forwareded.
