    Aucland.net offers 15mbit UN-METERED bandwith @ $189.95/m! ?? any reviews about them?

    Hi All:
I just came across this site http://www.aucland.net/dedicated_servers.htm and seem like their offers are too good to be true. If any of you had been with them before, or currently their clients, please give me some feedback/review about them.
    thanks

    never heard of them. but

1, their domain name was registered on 1/28/04

2, the domain name was registered "privately" aka "anonymously" by a third party service so no information regarding the registrant is available through whois lookup

3, their website is hosted on a managed.com server

4, no contact information (address, phone etc) other than email is provided on their website.

    not good signs to me.

yes thats what i meant by "private" registration. imo no legit company ever has a reason to do this. if privacy is a concern for us individuals when we register a domain name, what a business is trying to do by hiding their contact information from being accessed publicly?

Also if you look at his servers and his 'serverhall' information, i think he is trying to resell FDC... and lieing about the connection..

ISP POP (point of presence) Infrastructure of fiber optic raisers throughout the building which ensures easy delivery of any of many ISPs that are present in the building. Multiple 1Gbit (1000Mbit) connection from Yipes, Cogent and XO communications.

Those are the same connections as FDC's, same price range and same box specs. If you want a server at that price with the same QoS (it seems to be getting better from what I hear) then buy directly from FDCServers.net and avoid a possible fraud or the owner just leaving operation.
