Best way to upload from DreamWeaverMX to Apache(linuxbox)
Both computers are in my LAN, and I have complete controll. I figure I'll create a Samba share on the Linux box at the root of the apache server "/var/www". This creates issues with what the owner of the files should be? I would bind Samba to accept only the ip of the computer with DreamWeaver.
Can any one suggest a better alternative? FTP? External harddrive(very cumbersome)?
Isn't making the root of the web server uploadable by ftp some what of a security threat.
Ease of configuration is not realy an issue. If so Samba would be the easiest for me. Let me know, how you guys do it.
cool thanks. But my issue was with the permissions. Right now they are root root -rw-r--r--. Now I should not have a share with root priviledges. I'm sure this is pretty simple but the whole multy user deal sort of confuses me.
