Say i have a main domain invisionplus.net
And then i make a few new sites and host them on the same account.
How can i make it so each site has a different domain?
And all three are different sites and on the same hosting account
That is a feature that is called an 'add-on domain'. You must check with your host to see if they are available with your hosting account.
When different domains all go to the same pages they are called domain aliases. You have one set of web pages that is shown whenever any of the domain aliases are used.
I think Chris was wondering about having different domain names, each with their own set of web pages.
Hope this helps!
Oh I see.
That's One client have Many Domains concept.
In Plesk (many other software do), you can create many domains for a client.
Each domains have their own document root.
One server one ip address
can create many domains
each domain can be called a virtual hosting rite?
and the domains share one ip address
you could use one ip address for one domain (higher cost)
Yes, I think you've got it!
Since there are only a certain number of IP addresses available, it is a much more efficient use of IP's for multiple domains to share a single IP. There are valid reasons why a domain might need a unique IP, though - for example, if there is an SSL certificate.
Thanks, yas i have add on domains in my c panel.
