A lot of hosts offer 'Fully Managed' Dedicated Server Solutions, but fail to provide what the client views as 'Fully Managed'. Our FM Server Solution is quite different. Let me explain:
When you sign up for our FM Server Solution, you will have all the resources of the Dedicated Server, without the hassle of administrating it. We add the server to our existing H-Sphere cluster, and give you, and only you access to it. You can have a reseller account and host your own clients on your dedicated server if you desire. We treat the server as one of our own, and add it to our daily maintenance schedule to keep it updated and secure, just like we do with all of our shared hosting servers. We will install custom software for you, as long as it is something that we feel will not risk the integrity of the server.
Common Questions about our FM Server Solutions:
Q. Will I have root access to my server?
A. No, we do not give customers Root access to our FM Servers, as we cannot properly manage a server if others have the potential to undo or break the work we are doing on the server.
Q. Will I have SSH Access to my server?
A. Yes, we do provide SSH access to your server so that you can easily administrate your own site(s).
Q. Why FreeBSD 4.8 and H-Sphere only for the FM Servers?
A. Since these are servers that we are responsible for managing, we need to be able to dictate at least what the base system will be running. We can not competently offer managed solutions for products/systems we do not know extremely well. We know H-Sphere and FreeBSD, and together they make a killer combination.
Q. What kind of services can I have running on my FM Server?
A. You can have any number of services running on your server. The common ones are Web, Mail, MySQL, but we also have customers who we manage that use Real's Helix Streaming Server, ColdFusion, and other software applications. If you have a custom service you would like us to run/manage on your server, please contact us.
