$280/month << Who would pay that much when u can get it cheaper from EV1 , ServerMatrix, Managed.com , and basically any other company.
If the above prices are accurate, I would have to agree, their prices for dedicated servers are very high when compared to BURST, SM, EV1, etc...

Well, the main business of splash host isn't dedicated servers. Until recently they were mainly a reseller host, but have moved to offering VPS's. I've had my site hosted there for almost 2 years now and for the most part I've been happy. My biggest complaint has been that they left users hanging on their Dallas servers for way too long, but I haven't had any problems since the move in March.
Despite the fact that I'm currently happy with them, I will be moving my site off of them in May. I'm an ASP.NET/MSSQL developer in real life and I'd like to be able to start putting some personal projects on the web so I'm moving to a Windows 2003 solution.
I hope that this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Okay, most importantly, that machine is fully managed. All of those other providers offer unmanaged service. That server also has two hard drives in it, which you failed to mention.
And lastly, maybe the reason you've heard nothing about around here is because they actually provide superior service? The Negative:Positive review ratio around here is probably something like 30:1 maybe worse. So I think it's safe to say that NOT having reviews around here may actually be a good thing. In addition, there's no law stating someone's prices have to be competitive. They obviously are a profitable business since they've been around for quite some time. Just because their pricing isn't comparable to what most people are willing to spend doesn't mean they don't have customers - WHT is notorious for being filled with people who want something for nothing and coming back wondering why they got screwed.

Their prices for FULLY, proactively managed dedicated machines are very reasonable, actually. I'm sure they do the same as my company with proactive management and zero learning curve for the client. You cannot compare that to ServerMatrix, EV1 or even Rackspace for that matter. That kind of service and that kind of monitoring costs money to provide.
Hi Alan... I was just wondering if you were still around - and to whoever said ive heard nothing about them, thats not what I said, i said i used to hear about splashhost all the time and now i dont... for the record they were all good things on here, not everyone comes on here just to moan about hosts.
