Help on website - Menu items - Do I have to change ALL Pages if I change 1 menu item?

    Hi

I have a problem - if I am using menu items like

    http://www.sephora.com/browse/sectio...egoryId=S10820

Where they have concealers, Cream foundation, Liquid Foundation etc etc at the left side ...

if I were to remove off say the Liquid foundation ...

do I have to change ALL My pages to reflect the menu change or is there an easier way to do it?

    Thank you

I use Dreamweaver. It let's you do a find/replace on your whole site. You might be able to find a text editor to do the same.

The only requirement is that the menu is coded the exact same way in each file (although, i think Dreamweaver will ignore differences in white space...).

Sorry, never used FP. You can download and use Dreamweaver free for 30 days. Find it at Macromedia.com. You may decide to get a copy of it after using it.

    Nice site, BTW.

babymushroom there is an easy way if your not lazy. use an SSI or PHP include, put the menu in it, and put the include in all of your pages instead of the menu.

that way, you can work on the menu and change it as much as you want, and it will apply to all pages.

I actually use Sothink's DHTML editor. You can get it from here:

You can see it in action here:

sadly, unless you know a little about programming and can use included files, you will have to change the menu on every page.
With included files, the menu is created once, and each page calls the menu file to be included in the html output.
It sort of works like a css or js file.
Good luck in what ever way you accomplish this task.

I thought that Dreamweaver has a way to do it ...

Is included hard to program? I tried searching a bit on it and it seems to be only a line of PHP code which can be link to another HTML file.

By the way, if I were to use php include will this affect google indexing my site?

You can also use Sausage Software's Multi File Find and Replace:
    ftp://ftp.sausage.com/pub/supertoolz/m2far.exe

It's free and easy to use and can change multiple files at once

Of course, if you do learn to use php or ssi includes, that would definitely be another option for you.

You don't need includes. You just have to invest some time in learning how to create templates with your HTML editor (in this case, dreamweaver).
