[QUOTE]Originally posted by netgogo Where is it the best place to backorder a .org domain name?
BTW, after a .org domain is on status : "Client Hold" (expired, yet date
shows 2005, weird), how longtime is the wait until complete deletion?
when a domain expire the registry add 1 year and waits for the registrar to send DELETE command and delete the domain.
registrar asks the customer to renew and wait from 1 - 45 days
if customer did not renew, registrar send DELETE command to registry and domain status change from registrar-hold to redemption period and refund the registrar the year he added while waiting for the customer.

Would Expirefish be OK? (BTW, howcome registerfly has backorders for
.cc, .bz, .tv etc... the fee for their backorder is lower than regular registration fee for those extensions?!)
PS. I would certainly rather avoid bidding options, as I believe it is prone to artificial "overbidding" and tricks. You see what I mean.
expiredfish doesn't really worth some ppl said domain gets available for days before they grap it.
for .org try pool.com snapnames.com and domaincatcher.at also i think godaddy added .org grapping.
use all if you really want the domain

Thanks for the answers.
I had a look at domaincatcher.at, but I have not seen any price or any information... have you had first hand experience with them (they seem to backorder .ws, .cc, .tv, and other country extensions)?
BTW how is Namewinner? (for .org)
I somehow fear the bidding sites, because there is no way to know how things work behind the scenes... I read about inflated biddings...
Also, the moment you bid on any name, many people sudenly find an interest in that very same name (coincidence? hmm?)... it is like a game for some people to overbid (Vegas syndrom
Perhaps snapnames then?
I went to expirefish and tried to backorder any extension including .zz (that does not exist...) they would collect the money no problem... kinda not very serious it seems...
I was wondering if namewinner or pool share the lists of bidded name? (to other bidders or former bidders etc) ... if they do so, then there is every chance that the name will get overbided?... Am I missing something here?
I went to both sites and found lists of "expired", "to be deleted" names, but no list of current bids... which is good... as long as there are no lists, or newletters circulating....
Also, is it advisable to bid at the very last moment (like during pending delete period)? If you start too early, the name will/might attract extra attention... I am not confortable with biddings... thats true...
