Hi, I was just checking out my domains in UKreg, and I was wondering why expired domains still appeared in the configure domains area? Shouldn't they vanish...they show as expired, just still remain in there though.

the fasthosts guys'n'girls that deal with ukreg are actually pretty good, the scripts need some work, but if you email them and ask they'll tidy your cp up for you
domains [at] fasthosts.co.uk with your a/c name/no and first or lats 2 of pwd and a *nice* request to tidy the cp by reoving the expired/deleted domains (list them) and asking for ack when done
and i'm certain they;ll sort it out
you can also ask them to fwd the suggestion for it to be more "automated" to the developers
remember that it's *technically* possible to move domains without them being notified, so providing a manuall recheck and *your* authorised removal is the way fwd ...
Knowing how Fasthosts/UKreg work I would say that it would be quite difficult for them to make the changes that have been suggested.
The two operations are part of the same company, but they operate independently of each other. You can use one without using the other. For example, if you have your own Nominet tag, or your own reseller account with a GTLD registrar, you can register your domains independently and have them hosted at Fasthosts without having to move them to their Nominet tag or into their GTLD reseller account.
I've always found UKREG very good at following up problems via their query system (and quick as well) - ask the daftest of questions and they follow it up thoroughly. It's a shame that their parent company, Fasthosts, doesn't treat paying customers in the same way.
