While I worked at a gas station several years ago, I would have done something just as bizarre, if we had that type of sign.

I agree that it could also be good marketing. Everytime we did something odd at our store, we would see more business. It wouldnt suprise me if this guy still has his job, or if the manager/boss did this himself.

I also remember when I worked in a c-store, I "fixed" the pop dispensor. The sodas where always too watery, but when I adjusted it to what it was supposed to be, we sold more pop. To adjust it right, we had a special measuring cup that had 2 slots which you put under the spigot. If the 2 slots were equal, it was mixed right.

The sad thing was a stupid area manager came by and adjusted back to watery. The sales fell and he said don't touch it again. The guy had no brains. Shortly after that, the store was sold to another chain.

Agreed, and yeah things like that do indeed work to pull in more customers. A nice example of sticking out from the crowd and being noticed.

I agree if I saw that sign I would definately stop at that gas station to talk to the guy and probably buy gas.

Now imagine the turnover - how many people would actually stop and tell him about it. And maybe even buy something.

    This is great PR.

This brings up a good point, there is a barbecue place in Ardmore (TN/AL) (Whitt's Barbecue if you're ever there stop and get a sammich) and they serve drinks in big styrofoam cups with that ultra cold crushed ice, and it's just the best coke ever. I'll go outta my way to snag a BBQ sammich and a big coke if I'm near there.

When I was in high school there were 2 BBQ places next door to each other both owned by a "Whitt" and both named Whitt's and they had signs like "the REAL Whitt's barbecue" and "the FIRST Whitt's Barbecue" and they had a big price war, $.49 BBQ sammiches, we'd go there during driver's ed and for $2 you could get 2 sammiches, and a big coke and have enouch change left to buy a 25cent mello yello on the way home from school. Ahh the good old days

Nope, but with the bags under his eyes you could say he has carry on luggage when he flys.

My dads name is Chris Jones and my family is a mixure of Cherokee Indian and Irish. If you put a turban on him he looks like an Arab

They should put this sign up:

"if you steal unleaded gas from me you get 2 pieces of lead in your @$$"

Yes I am making them up! I think I would be a good stand-up comedian. I would have to say my role model is Ray Romano. I do real life comedy real well. Heres some more!

"If you noticed your engine broke down we've replaced the gas with water to make more profit"

"If you see red sticky stuff coming out of the trunk don't open her up"
