I have already posted my vies but I think that the particular theme needs extra research.there are numerous Non Us,Non European or even Small European countries, sellers like me that use PayPal and desperately looking for a way to withdraw their money.
There are quite a few options but most of them are expensive for someone that has not the knowledge or the money to make them work.
Below I 'll try to explain what options I have tried and reffer advantages and disantdvantages.
1. You have a US friend (trustworthy enough) to create a US Business PayPal account in his name, register his card and US Bank account, gives you the Paypal password ,you withdraw your payments in his US Bank acct (no fees) and email him once a week to withdraw the Balance and send you cash via Registered Mail (not so risky as it sounds if you do not leave in a Third World country) OR send you a Personal Check (no fees for him) via mail.
The second option (Cheque) sounds and is safer as if it is lost in the mail can be canceled and send you another (Bank fees for cancellation) but to be frank never happened to me.
The bad thing is that you have to open a USD account in your local Bank, deposit the check and wait for it to clear.Clearance of Personal AND Cashier Checks is almost the same for most foreign Banks (treat them the same),although they wouldnt have to) and you may have to wait from a few days to up to one full month in order to take your Moneu in your Hands.
2. If you want to have your own PayPal account and you are a Non US citizen, things are getting harder.Paypal at the moment accepts sellers from quite a few countries (more than before).
If you live in one of them, you are lucky....but if you are not a permanent resident of France,Germany,UK and a few other first class European countries then the problem comes again...you can create an account but practically you cannot withdraw your money.YOU NEED A US BANK ACCOUNT!!
I red all the postings in this forum on this matter contacted numerous US Banks but received only negative replies. They were very sorry but they couldnt help me!! Some of them replied that they would open me an account if I could go personally in one of their US branches...I knew that I have beautiful green eyes but never expected that someone could make such a fuss to closely look at them...!!
There is still an alternative....4-5 online services (maybe more?) that offer to open you a US Bank account for a fee.No Social security numbers,no taxation numbers,nothing....just a copy of your passport and a few other easy to be issued documents.
The account offers low minimum deposit, online banking, cheque book, debit card (everything in your name)......As soon as it is ready you can add it in your Paypal acount and start withdraw your hard earned money. The rest is easy....
I agree that Paypal is not the most caring Payment service but is the most well known from the US clients and is the one that eases the fears of a US client when it is going on to deal with a foreign seller. Its a kind of Passport....I used to sell on Ebay and although my 600+ positive feedback most of my clients were very reluctant to deal with me.When I added Paypal my sales doubled in a few weeks. Byuers just trust you more when you use Paypal, this is a fact....all other Online Payment services are not bad at all but are not so widelly known among buyers and that is what counts for me.....
I am not advertising Paypal....I know that there are many sellers out there really burned from their services....what I know is that helped me a lot to gain customers trust, brought me more sales and now that i found a way to withdraw my money is a dream come true.
As for the sellers out there ,either you are selling though Auction sites, your sites or both....make your own research and get to your conclusions...just try to think what in the far end comes cheaper and easier for you and mostly for your clients.
I 've tried to create a mwerchant account in my Home country,it turned out to be the most negative experience of my life....tons of documents needed, extra fees, income taxes...I already have a primary job and I dont like to share the much needed additional income with our Tax Authorities.
If you are a small to medium size seller there only very few Payment solutions, try to find the best.
