What is the "traffic" for this domain?
I am considering the purchase of a domain name from someone and I'm trying to find out what is the "value" of the domain name.
For example, the domain is a mis-spelling of a common word. I would use the domain to point traffic to my website.
The seller has no stats available.
How can I find out how many people are actually mis-typing and "using" this domain name instead of the real name, etc...?
I hope that makes sense...
Thanks!

Well it is kind of hard to tell what the traffic for the site is without the domain names. I understand you don't want to say for many reason. I would do some research on the name you are looking into. Look at the PR, Alexa (kind of useless these days) Yahoo, Google, DMOZ, MSN, etc... then you should get a good idea on the stats, how does the domain name holder not know the stats of the domain name? Does not add up if he is the one who owns it.
best of luck

How can I tell PR, etc..? I did a search for the domain name on google, but nothing was returned. Which makes sense since any links would be to the "real" domain name. ??
I don't understand. Is there some way I can check google searches to see how many people are querying for this term or something?

Do you use Google bar? That is a place to start. Also if the site is just sitting there doing nothing, not even being used, I would say the traffic is not very high what so ever, I might be wrong, been told that once in a while! If you want to pm me the name I would be more than happy to do some reaseach on it for you.

Where do you see the Yahoo and DMOZ in the whois.sc ?
Also I don't belive alexa's rankings, Many of my domain names get a good amount of traffic daily and will be on Alexa one day and not show up for weeks later, yes they multipul listings in dmoz, yahoo, google, msn, etc... not just a momandpop domain name.
Edit: Found it just didn't look hard enough and always look at the bottom of the whois
Thanks

NP. I have noticed very little discrepancy between that tool and the google bar. The problem is Google themselves. I have had PR5 domains go to PR0 in one day with no changes in links or site content. I have also had sites off line for two weeks and go from PR2 to PR6. I still can't figure out what they are doing.
