I'm creating a small graphics site. What's a good host?

My main priority is currently price. The site has not been publiciced yet, so it won't need much bandwith for the time being. Nothing with limits on number of files uploaded, please.

    Anyone have and suggestions?

You could use the host quote feature to enter in the statistics you need, or browse the offers section to look for a deal.

    Good luck!

I was also wondering what amount of bandwith a graphics site (with downloadable layouts) would take up. I don't have much experience with that subject.

It really depends on how many visits you think you would be getting, and how big your files are.

How much total space do you need for your site? As of right now? And what do you expect you'll need in the coming months?
    Thanks,

A good host is one that will work with you and let you grow your account as you need to. As you say initially it won't need much bandwidth, but as it becomes known and especially with downloadable graphic content your bandwidth requirements will grow.

Best way is to develop a shortlist of hosts from HostQuote, or FindMyHosting.Com, or searching here. Then email them and see which ones come across as being willing to work with you, and be flexible with their packages.

The biggest problem with finding a host, is that there are just so many to choose from. Email is your best friend, along with opinions and reviews expressed in these forums.

Get like a reseller with 5GB space and 100GB Transfer, should be like $15-30 / month

100 GB of transfer for 15.00/m? Where? And I'm not talking about sites that massively oversell their services - show me 1 quality provider that offers prices that low...

Says who? I charge almost 4-6 times what you're quoting for that price.

Anyone that's got bottom dollar pricing like that is either not going to be operational in a year, or is overselling so much that everyone suffers.

REPEAT AFTER ME: A buck a gig.. a buck a gig...

Industry standard pricing is $1.00-$2.50 per gig of bandwidth.
