Client ordered, but his email address doesnt work.
A client ordered a package...and our auto send emails were sent to his address. They came back to us. Then he emailed us complaining he received no information about what he ordered and therefore wouldnt pay until he did. We replied but it came back again..and again.
His email was hisname@hisname.plus.net
So I went to plus.net...it is a Broadbadn providor. I just now sent an email to hisname@plus.net but dont know if it will get to him....what else can I do?Dimensity Web Enterprises - ..::host.exception.dimension::..

Probably a typo in his email address, is that the only contact info you ask for?

They may not provide you with specific information because of customer protection policies, but inquiring with plus.net may shed some light as to the "format" of the e-mail address.

Cancel the account and move on. If they can't provide proper contact details you may end up looking at a chargeback if the service has been paid for, or bad press if it goes on for too long.

20% of our customers mistype their email addresses on sign up. Its a pain in the a**. Thats why we are moving to a system where they get an email with a link they have to click on to complete the ordering process.
The wors of them are the AOL users who set AOL to reject mail from anyone not in their address book or Eart***** users whose spam permission email comes back to our autoresponder address and we have to pick it up and type in the passcode.Formerly: Managing Director, Hostroute.com Ltd & Marketing Director, Ultraspeed UK Ltd

Do you not ask for a phone number when a customer is signing up?

Yes, but they usually out fake or incomplete ones in as well, probably more often than they give bad email addresses.
We actually get people puttin gin email addresses they know to be fake because they don't want to get spam but they will trust us with their credit card number.Formerly: Managing Director, Hostroute.com Ltd & Marketing Director, Ultraspeed UK Ltd

So, why don't you e-mail him and tell him to turn off the filter?
Actually, just while I was writing this, it gave me an idea.
If you're desparate to get in contact with him, and you belive it's the spam filter, try e-mailing him from a different personal address, not from the server's webmail, etc.

This happens really often... Even worse: Sometimes their email address works but my IP is blocked because their ISP uses some sicko's blacklist that blocks 99.9% of the web...like Spews or something.

I could just use a server in the US but I object to that as we have a big SMTP server in London set up for the purpose and I object to being labled as a spammer because I am not in the USA.
Oh and most of our chargebacks are from verizon customers claiming non delivery.Formerly: Managing Director, Hostroute.com Ltd & Marketing Director, Ultraspeed UK Ltd

Why don't people set up good automated anti spam lists with automated removal after the spam stops... Just blocking 50% of the web sucks bad time.
