    authnet refund?

Is there a way through which I can issue a refund through only knowing the transaction id of a transaction? The reason I ask is that we do not save credit card numbers due to the obvious liability involved. However when I go to issue a refund it asks for the credit card number. Do I need to know the cc# to issue the refund?

You don't need to know the full credit card # to issue a refund via Authorize.Net.

All you need to know is the information provided on the transaction detail. I believe it lists the last 4 digits of the card as well as some other pertinent info, that is the only info you'll need to enter in order to process the refund successfully.
