Host can have 100 per day. However it doesn't matter when you are losing 75 per day. This is what happens to many host.

Also, I would never belive half the stuff you read here.

Your domain was only registered in Feb 2004, I am very impressed that you are already getting such a high rate of sales. Would love to know your secret!

Today my competitor offers 25 GBs of bandwidth and 500 MBs of space.
Tomorrow I will offer 50 GBs of bandwidth and 1000 MBs of space.
Then in two days my competitor will offer 75 GBs of bandwidth and 2000 MBs of space.
On the third day, I will say "The hell with it" and offer unlimited everything!
On the fourth day, my competitor offers unlimited everything for free
And on the fith day we are both living under a bridge with unlimited debt

With my site which is mainly targeted towards webdesign I got about 40 hosting customers in 3 weeks (I have only been around for 3 weeks so far). I am very satisfied about that but I had to spend as much money in advertising as I have earned so far

I can't believe someone is getting 20 customers a day.

And on the sixth day web sites all over the world disappear leaving their owners wondering where they went wrong budgetting only $0.75 per year for their milti-thousand dollar per minute cash generating web site.

On topic: We're quite happy with 1 or 2 new customers per week.

Myself and my partner have taken the advice of many of people both in and out of WHT and started locally. We developed a campaign in mid December where we went out into the community and developed strong relationships with business owners and other potential customers.

The best advice I could give would be to start local, then work your way out, and most of all, make sure that your current clients are happy enough with your services to refer you to others. About 75% of our new customers are brought in by word of mouth.

Usually word of mouth and working closely to our corporate clients helped us greatly. They would usually tell their customers about us and how satisfy they are. So just keep your customers happy in the beginning and sales should increase.

It jumps anywhere from 0 - 10 hosting customers per day, about 3 reseller customers a week and about 7 - 15 shoutcast customers per week

I would say signups are fairly inconsistent here. There will be days where we get none, then other days when we get multiple signups.

I'm lucky if I get 1 signup a week Lately I've been getting 1 every 2 weeks. But I'm not really actively promoting my site online. My signups come from new webdesign customers, so I also get paid for making a website

  20. #20
We're only getting 1 per week on average. Most of our server income comes from managed hosting for sites we designed.

5 to 10 everyday. Our max was 18 per day few months back. Want to make it to 12 signups every hour.

Same here. My company is quite new and it is starting out very slow, and I very much anticipated this. I do, however, see good potential.

1-2 per day and the max so far is 5.
Happy with the current growth, of course the more the better . But sometimes I'll afraid it'll be hard to handle if growing too fast when a company is still relatively new...

when you ask the question on how many new clients you get a day? I think you are looking for growth in terms of people taking up web space.

For us, there are bad times when there is only 1 customer a week but this does not mean a bad thing because I gauge our capability to serve. If this very customer needs SSL or any other value added service, you can actually earn an handsome profit esp when they ask for a redesign.

In addition, I would say don't just look at how much growth you get per day but whether you can support the drastic growth due to marketing campaign or whatsoever.

Hope this will help you plan.

    You really get clients?

I have been online for about a year and have 3 paid clients. Started a reseller account for misc sites of my own. Offered hosting, very little advertising and got 3 clients. Not bad. Helps pay for the account and support is almost nil.

Been visiting this board to get ideas on taking it to the next level.

So what does that average? A new client every 4 months!!

Yep. It also depends on how much they are investing into their promotion too. A host could get getting 100 clients per day, but burning through cash at a great rate, to obtain those 100 clients per day. How long til their cashflow gains traction, is another thing.

Been in business for a year. Not as many clients as I would like, but I just launched a new ad campaign today, and already got a signup. I would say during the time we actually promoted well we were getting around 1 or 2 a week.

Maybe PingZine ripped your sig. I wouldn't know because teh service is so unreliable that I've only ever received 2 copies. They came in handy when I was stuck up a mountain with no toilet roll though.

Perhaps they are fixing the typos I mentioned.

I did think it was odd that they only have one server (I think) with 18 sites hosted and I think two of those sites belong to them.

The scariest part is they host this site: http://www.backrow.org/
