Wheres the best place to get 10mbps or 100mbps?
Well where? I have a budget of around $2000. And I need a server to handle 1000+ shoutcast lissteners. I could get loads of 10mbps or more to make a cluster of servers to spread the load.
Thanks in advance.

The best offer i have heard of lately is 100Mbps commit at he.net for $1999 colocation. Which means you would need to provide your own server.
Raise your price a bit and you will have a lot more options to you. Start at at least $2500 for 100Mbps█ Xcellweb.net - Quality Web Solutions That Work!

Yeah, get a few Server Matrix servers. Go through one of their resellers to reduce costs. I'm sure they can provide you with 10 Mbps unmetered servers if you asked them about it.

Am I missing something here? 3en has quite clearly asked where the best place to get 10Mbps or 100Mbps servers from.
Why are you all suggesting server companies that are offering 1000GB (~3Mbps constant) monthly transfer on shared connections?█ Xcellweb.net - Quality Web Solutions That Work!

Because I know for a fact that you can get a 10Mbps connection through Server Matrix if you request it. Which is what I suggested they do.

I actually think their current special is $2500 for a 100Mbit commitment. I would suggest just going with a he.net resellers like Rack4less, Egihosting or Fastservers.

I think the Hurricane $2500 deal is
1. Fremont only
2. One-rack lock in - you can only use that 100mb/s in one rack. And HE racks only have 15 amps of power. And you can't add more.
They do sell full gigabit commits for $20,000, tho.Fire extinguisher extraordinare

Ok, and as I stated before, if you request it, because I have done this myself before - I know for a fact that you can obtain a 10Mbps connection on one of their servers. Obviously it costs more then the prices listed for their 1000 GB Servers, but you can still have it done,

For 10mbps:
www.nocster.com / www.burst.net
www.hostmania.net
www.sagonet.com
www.servermatrix.com -- MUST E-MAIL SALES AND REQUEST
www.superbservers.net
For 100mbps true:
www.sagonet.com
www.superbservers.net
Both of those offer servers on a 100mbps unmetered port, however, it's going to cost a couple grand, I Sagonet's lowest server is like $1995 and that's just a celeron.
Buddy of mine uses Hostmania.net w/ their 100mbps unmetered, however, they only guarantee you'll ever be able to use 3mbps of it. He's pushed 20mbps and 25mbps(He does a private radio show for his business, tons of listeners).
There is also FDCServers.net, but I'd look elsewhere they're still bumpy.Shawn R. Lockheart

100Mbps cannot hold 1,000 listeners at 128Kbps. The best bitrate at which you can realistically hold 1,000 listeners on 100Mbps is 64 to 80.
At 128Kbps, you would be able to hold only about 675 to 700 listeners -- and that's on a good day. Remember to take into account the overhead. Never expect to utilize more than 90% of the bandwidth given to you.
However, you're on the right track. If you want to hold 1,000 listeners, you should not do it from a single point. Nor should you do it from a single network. You should chunk it at least 3 times across 3 different networks.

coloquest
Check out www.coloquest.com. I have a server there on an unmetered 5mbps plan and it kicks ***.. they have 10mbps unmetered and some others as well and I know for a fact you can push as much as you buy if you want, and it's level3 bandwidth with cogent for backup only and they are adding some more like worldcom and i think opentransit. If you need reference or u want to test something on my server i'd be happy to set up a url or something for you.. these guys have gone out of their way to help with server setup and configs and to get me going, real nice people.
