    Verio

How will you rate verio as a bandwidth provider?
I suppose location matter in a certain way. I'm looking at the datacentre located in chicago.

I just require a little information on verio. Thanks

    regards

    Thumbs up

    Two thumbs up.

We've been using them for over a year, excellent staff and service.

We're in Detroit, and a large portion of our traffic is routed through Chicago. Over the last year, our monitor has loged a handfull of instances, all were delt with immedatly. I keep a monitor on a multi homed network in Chicago just to watch it.

    Greetings:

NTT, the owner of Verio had twice the market capitalization of ATT in 2000 (not sure in 2004).

Verio is among the top providers of bandwidth and hosting.

    Thank you.

Verio also has great availability and network in Switch & Data's St. Louis site. Not chicago but close.

Verio's network is as good as they get, and NTT will be keeping the network indefinately.

Stay out of their datacenters however, as their future is uncertain (as it has been for a while now).

    No problems here...

We were in the Verio SJDC for about a year--no complaints about the space, bandwidth, etc. Main reason we switched is because our office is a major drive to San Jose (2+ hours) and I didn't want to be that far away in case of downtime.

    Geetings:

As a bandwidth provider, within the top 5.

As a co-location provider, you could not pay me enough money to ever co-locate anything in a Verio co-location facility.

    Why?

Because we personally had business partners we helped get into the Verio Philadelphia co-location facility which was like an unmanaged garage.

And with two weeks notice, Verio closed the facility.

Why co-locate with a company that has a track record of closing facilities with inadequate notice (Philadelphia was only one of many they closed with short notice)?

    Thank you.

A large chunk of our traffic travels over Verio, and we haven't noticed a single problem with their network in NYC. The rest of our traffic goes over Sprintlink, also without noticeable problems.

It _really_ depends on where you are located. There are areas where Verio's IP should not be touched with a 10 foot pole.
