quick question about linux partitions.
when people say extending partitions, this does or does not mean that a partition such as /home can be stretched out over multiple disks?
If this is not the case is it possible?
You can stretch /home over several disks if you use a RAID array.
In Cpanel you can also just add other hard drives and mount them as /home# with # being incrementing numbers. Cpanel will put new users on the disk with the most free space I believe.
RAID 5 would work yes ...
Array Capacity: (Size of Smallest Drive) * (Number of Drives - 1).
Storage Efficiency: If all drives are the same size, ( (Number of Drives - 1) / Number of Drives).
Minimum of 3 drives required.
what could work with 2?
I don't really need the redundancy, or the speed stripping etc... I just want a partition to cary over to another drive.
