Thread: Log Error

    Log Error

I looked in my log manager and received this information

    "[Thu Apr 8 14:00:07 2004] [notice] cannot use a full URL in a 401 ErrorDocument directive --- ignoring! "

Anyone know what it means, and how it can be fixed?

It means one of the Web sites on the server is using an error document 401 with the full URL instead of a relative path.

How to find it depends on the control panel you (or lack of) that you are using.

cd to the area where user httpd.conf files are located (or the main web server conf file)

    grep 401 *

That should let you know which configuration file needs to be edited, and changed.

Apache will have to be restarted after any httpd.conf file changes.

    Thank you.
