httpd is calling index.html and not index.htm?

when i go to http://www.vagrantweb.com, the index.htm page will not come up. all my domains are automatically calling up index.html, even if i don't have an index.html file.

pico httpd.conf or whatever editor you use and find

    DirectoryIndex index.html index.html.var

    and make it

    DirectoryIndex index.html index.html.var index.htm

and add anything else you want it to read by default.

That is unfortunate. I know of a good many editors that use that filetype by default. I always use .html, but for some of the newer web designers, that might pose a problem.

Just edit httpd.conf as part of your server set up process.
