I use netregistry also because of the speed of their processing unit. These days most of the good domain names are simply no longer available. If i had applied for registration of half of my domains and had to wait for the registrar to get back from the shop or wait the 24hrs you suggest then i 100% know that they would have been snapped up by others.
I had one domain registered about 1 hour and received an email from someone else who was simply not quick enough to get the job done and were begging me for the domain.
Just curious what you would do if you found out the only reason you missed out on a domain like DVDs.com.au or eMusic.com.au was the registrar had other things to do first and put your registration in the "things to do tommorow list".
