Thread: High Ram usage

  1. #1

    High Ram usage

    Mem: 1025160k av, 999620k used, 25540k free, 0k shrd, 63852k buff
    210904k active, 720044k inactive
    Swap: 787176k av, 5308k used, 781868k free 675620k cached

Other than adding more physical RAM to the box, how can I reduce the use by configuring my.cnf or httpd.conf?

Pentium 4 3.0Ghz with hyperthreading. 1Gig of Ram.

look at your active and unactive.

your not low on memory at all, ur using 210MB of ram

linux is using the rest of the memory as a cache, which is normal

linux WILL use as much ram as it can for a cache. and as soon as that ram is needed, it will be assigned to the process that needs it
