Hey, could someone please explain to me what defines a connection to a server (i.e, is a browser downloading an html page a connection)

And, can apache be configuired to limit the amount of simeltanious connections?

I ask this, because i am about to launch a service like ezboard, or proboards and to stop servers from becoming overloaded, i need to make sure i know what im asking my hosting company to do to keep the servers swift and fast.

You might want to ask this in the technical area, however, I know that Apache can be configured to limit bandwidth. Some kind of module you can install I believe.
