I am looking for a cheap/easy solution to provide me with the ability to fulfil orders/bill customers for dedicated servers.
I am working on the website right now, but am not sure how to go about the billing/ordering for them. I could set up a simple email form, or modify osCommerce.
I know H-sphere has this feature in the works for the future, but I can't wait for that
I also need a way to do recurring payments. I have authorize.net but don't really want to subscribe to their recurring payment system. If worse comes to worse, I'll set up a null shared plan within H-Sphere to handle the billing. But I still need a way to receive orders.
What do others use for handling their dedicated servers?
Not all payment gateways charge extra for fully automated recurring billing. You may want to look into some gateway options that have this feature built-it at no additional cost, if you are looking for the least expensive means of processing.
Just keep in mind, you won't have the benefits of some of the automation provided by packages like WHMAP, ClientExec, WhoisCart, MB and others. (Unless of course you tie in some of that yourself on your side - which can of course be done)

What exactly is WHM? All I know is that it interfaces with Cpanel for a shared hosting environment. So to me, using that would be no different from using my current H-Sphere system to manage my dedicated accounts.
Take a look at ubersmith. We are a channel partner with them and use their system as well as setup many of our resellers with it. No one has had any complaints so far, nice system, fast and easy to use.
